Real Bride Lisa

Meet Lisa, one of our super stylish brides, who got married in October in Cloughjordan House, Co. Tipperary. Lisa chose the Lucy dress by Alexandra Grecco. We love Lucy for her clean lines, plunge front and statement ruffle detail. Lucy is also a beaut of a dress to accessorise, we had so much fun styling Lisa up!

We asked Lisa some questions about her wedding style:

Lisa, we loved your dress choice! Was it the style you set out looking for or were you surprised with your choice?

Yes, this was THE dress I set out looking for. I found the Alexandra Grecco Lucy dress online when I began looking for wedding dress ideas. I fell in love with it instantly and immediately began googling stockists of the dress in Ireland. To my great surprise, I found it only a 20-minute journey from my home which I took as faith! I tried on several of the beautiful dresses in the shop but I kept going back to Lucy. Once Sorcha started working her magic and accessorised the dress with the pearl and glitter veil, it sealed the deal and I knew this was what I was going to wear on my wedding day.

What would you say was your overall wedding style?

I guess I would describe my wedding style as understated glam. While the dress is quite simple and elegant the accessories took the look to the next level and made it really impactful!

How else did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

I accessorised my dress with the pearl and gold glitter chapel length veil. This was a bit daring for me as I usually prefer something a little simpler and more understated, but I have to say Sorcha, my Mom and my sister Shauna were totally right when they convinced me that this was my veil. I got so many compliments about it from our guests on our wedding day. When I returned to The White and Gold to collect my dress, I tried on the Camellia gold shoes by Loeffler Randall and there was really no going back after that. I adore these shoes. They are incredibly comfortable and I wore them all day and long into a night which consisted of a lot of dancing!

I finished off my bridal look with some beautiful pearl and gold earrings and a bracelet by One Dame Lane which are available in The White & Gold. It really was a dream to get my entire look in the one place.

Finally, I got a pearl and gold headband from Rosie and Dott which I popped on once I took off my veil later in the evening.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

The Lucy dress is quite low cut and I was a little nervous about “popping out” but I found an genius product from a brand called Secret Weapons. I put on the “Clear Invisible Medical Grade Breast Lift Tape” at 11 am and it did not budge all day until I took it off at 3 am. The tape gave me so much confidence and I could not recommend this product enough. I also used some double-sided tape to ensure the front of the dress didn’t gape and it worked perfectly.

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

Soak up absolutely every moment of your wedding day, it will go in the blink of an eye so be present and in the moment. Don’t stress the little things in the weeks and days leading up to the big day. You have done everything and if you have forgotten anything absolutely nobody, apart from you, will notice!

Tell us about a special moment from the day?

It is really difficult to pick out just one moment from the day because it was the most special day from start to finish. After having to cancel our Spanish wedding in June we were blessed with the most stunning weather and I was so overjoyed to finally walk up the aisle and marry my best friend.

If I really had to pick a moment that was special it would be when my Mom and sisters handed me a box containing something old, new, borrowed and blue. My something new was the gold Rayne clutch handbag by Loeffler Randall! I nearly died when I saw it! It finished off my whole look perfectly. My something borrowed was a lucky charm brooch belonging to my Nana which I wore on my bouquet. It was so thoughtful and special to me.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

Second to none! The White & Gold was the first bridal boutique I went to and it was honestly the only one I needed to go to. Sorcha was incredible – she listened to what I was looking for and managed to give me my dream bridal look. The atmosphere in the shop is fantastic and the selection of dresses and accessories is out of this world. I cannot recommend The White & Gold enough. I was lucky enough to experience the level of service provided by Sorcha twice when my sister returned several months after me and found her dream dress also. Thank you so much for everything.

Thank YOU Lisa – I enjoyed every second of our appointments together! We are so grateful you chose your dream dress with us and are delighted to have you (and soon the sis!) in our W&G gang
