Meet our beautiful bride Ruth, who had a summer wedding in Coolbrawn Quay. Ruth tells us that she knew her Haven dress by Alexandra Grecco was the dress for her as she could not stop thinking about it. We think Ruth looks like a radiant Hollywood goddess in her photographs.

We asked Ruth some questions about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Wow Ruth! you looked absolutely gorgeous in your dress. Was it the style you had in mind for yourself?

I actually had my mind fully set on a very simple silk slip dress and then when I tried that type of dress on I just felt that it wasn’t different enough and then when I tried on this Alexandra Grecco dress I fell instantly in love and just loved how it sat on my body.

When did you know it was the dress for you?

I knew when I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I felt so comfortable in it. I came back to Sorcha a second time with a different person and said yes to the dress

Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?

I brought my sister first time round and my sister in law the final time and I brought them as they are always so honest with me. I only ever wanted one person with me as more than that can get over whelming.

What would you say was your overall wedding style? What were your inspiration sources for your planning?

I had a mixture of old hollywood style and modernized with my accessories.

I love anything with Margot Robbie and obviously Pinterest was great.

How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

Jewellery and shoe details? Were your shoes comfortable? Obviously with the AMAZING accessories in the White and Gold. I think what brought my dress to life was the veil, the Pearly Veil. Oh my god just stunning. I wanted shoes that I would wear again and I have worn them everywhere. I went with Loeffler Randall gold lamé Camellias (the most comfortable glam shoes I have ever worn) along with the gold Rayne clutch and topped the look off with the Gingko earrings.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

My Sister gave me her Spanx from her wedding day and they were so comfortable.

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

t was the most amazing day of my life and smiled and laughed all day and night. We were one of the first weddings after lockdown in our venue and due to that we had small numbers but we were so happy as it was just so intimate and perfect.

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

Easier said than done but just relax and enjoy every moment and especially the buildup. I think with the smaller crowd it made life very easy and don’t sweat over the small things. Just remember you are marrying the love of your life and that is all that’s important.

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

Hair: Hair by Joanne (Joanne Lane) Make up: Siobhan Mcloughlin (Luxe Salon) and Photography: Selina O Meara

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

The most calming and beautiful experience. Sorcha is just a goddess and the shop is just out of this world.

Thank you Ruth. It was such a pleasure meeting you and having the absolute craic! I loved hearing how happy you were with your dress. You looked so gorgeous and I am so thrilled you chose to be part of our White & Gold gang. Wishing you both so much happiness together
