Meet our beautiful bride Clodagh, who celebrated her wedding in Rathsalllagh Country House on the 15th July 2022. Clodagh fell in love with her dress as soon as she put it on! We love how happy and confident Clodagh looks in her dreamy photographs.

We asked Clodagh some questions about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Clodagh, our Arielle dress from Prea James was just perfect on you! Was it the style you had in mind for yourself? How did you know it was the dress for you?

It was the exact style I set out looking for and I just hoped it would suit me! I loved it the very first time I tried it on. I tried on a few more options just incase but I never found one to beat it and that’s when I knew it was right for me.

What would you say was your overall wedding style?

I would say my wedding vibe was casual Summer with a bit of Boho Luxe.

How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

My dress was so simple and beautiful that I knew I needed accessories. I accessorised with an Alexandra Grecco hairband and veil, One Dame Lane pearl drop earrings. My dress featured a split up the front so I knew I needed a WOW shoe. My beautiful gold Loeffler Randall mules gave the dress the final WOW touch. I’m so happy I got them as they are such an easy shoe to style for everyday and I know I will get plenty of wear.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

My dress was low cut at both the front and back so special underwear was essential! I went to Peaches and Cream in Dublin to get the perfect underwear. They were amazing and the bodysuit fit like a glove. On the day I used Perkys double sided tape to attach dress to the body suit to ensure everything was in place. I thought this was essential to make sure I felt most comfortable and relaxed.

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

Brian and I rented a green MGB Roadster from Courtyard Classic Car Hire for my Dad and I to drive to church and Brian and I to drive to the venue. I had two special moments with my Dad and Brian. Dad and I sang “Going to the Chapel” and my Dad thought he was like James Bond going to the church and Brian and I had some cherished time together on our own after the ceremony where we just drove with the sun in our hair and had 20mins to take all the love in together.

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

You do YOU and no-one else when it comes to your big day. Make time for a moment with your husband on your own and don’t feel any pressure to make the day about anyone else but you and your husband!

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

Ruth Bergin Makeup did our makeup and she was honestly a dream. She gave me such confidence and made me feel so at ease on the morning. She is so talented and I couldn’t say anything but nice things about her.

Shauna Donoghue from Wildflower in Dublin did my hair and I could not recommend her enough – she was more than just a hair stylist! She made sure the day ran smoothly and went beyond hairdressing duties when she stitched up my brother in laws shirt after a button popped before the ceremony and then popped little tissues in me and the girl’s bouquets for when we needed them throughout all the special moments of the day.

If you had bridesmaids where did you choose their dresses from?

I was so particular about the colour of my bridesmaid’s dresses. I really wanted a rustic pink dress and I saw such beautiful dresses in that colour on BHLDN by Anthropologie in the US. There was loads of different styles and I was so glad the girls loved them too and they could each pick out a different style they each loved.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

Honestly – Amazing! Sorcha and Nessa were an absolute dream.  They made the experience so lovely and they gave me such great advice and made me feel at home when picking my dress of dreams. Sorcha has built such a beautiful brand and I wish The White & Gold every success!

Thank you for your kind words Clodagh. It was such a pleasure meeting you and helping you find your dream dress. I am so thrilled you chose to be part of our White & Gold gang and we wish you both a lifetime of happiness together ♥ Sorcha
