Meet our beautiful bride Fiona who celebrated her wedding at Kilshane House in Co Tipperary. The ceremony was held there in the elegant glass conservatory.

We asked  Fiona some questions about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Fiona, our Cara dress from Prea James was just perfect on you! I still remember the first moment you tried it on! Was it the style you had in mind for yourself? How did you know it was the dress for you?

I think the Prea James Cara gown was how I discovered the White & Gold – I absolutely adored it, but I didn’t think it would suit me. I booked in for the Alexandra Grecco trunk show but pulled Cara to try on just in case.

I knew instantly before I even looked in the mirror! The fabric felt amazing and hung really beautifully, and it was the only dress I tried on that felt comfortable to me. I absolutely pranced out of the dressing room, everyone knew it was my dress without me saying anything!

Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?

I brought my Mom and my aunt Margaret with me. They had the best time. They sat back and enjoyed their Prosecco and were having so much fun a few times they didn’t even notice me come out in a new dress! The dress I chose was everyone’s favourite.

What would you say was your overall wedding style?

We wanted a relaxed, chic and intimate vibe for the day, and for it all to feel very ‘us’.

How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

I knew I didn’t want to wear a veil before I ever chose a dress (I had visions of it dragging in the mud behind me or of one of the dogs chewing it up!). I chose the Margot headband from Blue Meadow at TWG. It was so comfortable on the day and didn’t give me a headache – I wore it until the bitter end!!

I chose the platinum Pennys from Loeffler Randall at TWG. Despite having a 10 cm heel, they are so so comfy – I wore them for 12 hours before changing. I also wore simple drop pearl earrings from TWG, a vintage gold chain which I borrowed (not giving back!) from my Mom, and a pearl bracelet made by Cork based Saltwater Design (she made matching ones for my flower girls, too cute!).

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

With the cutout, slit, and low back, Cara isn’t the easiest to find underwear for. I ended up wearing Spanx Undie-Tectable and used tape on the bust.

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

For me the ceremony was the most special part of the day. I was so relaxed and happy and could feel so much love in the room. Our very talented friends provided all of the ceremony music and the setting in Kilshane’s conservatory was beautifully intimate.

I loved the moment when I was standing with my girls and Mom, waiting to walk down the aisle. My friend Rohan sang Nina Simone’s I’m feeling good for my entrance – from the first note he sang the tears of joy started flowing!

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

Just relax and enjoy every minute of it! So many people get stressed in the run up and the morning, and it ruins the enjoyment. So just relax and take it all in. There will always be something that doesn’t work out as you planned, but there is no point in wasting any precious time on your wedding day being stressed or upset about it!

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

I did my own hair, and Jade Kirwan did my make-up. Not only is she incredible at what she does but she is such a genuinely lovely person to be around on the morning of your wedding. Everyone really loved their makeup on the day.

Our photographer was Seán Sharpe. He is so fun, relaxed and easy going – we had an absolute blast with him!

If you had bridesmaids where did you choose their dresses from?

The girls all looked so amazing – we got their dresses from Pretty Lavish. The quality of the fabric was really nice and sizing wise they were all true to size.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

It was just the best. Sorcha made us feel very welcome and she has the best eye – she is absolute style goals! You’re missing out on a great experience if you don’t go shopping at TWG.

Thank you for your extremely kind words Fiona. It was so lovely meeting you girl gang and it was an honour having you wear one of our dresses. I am so thrilled to have you in our White & Gold gang and we all wish you both a lifetime of happiness together

♥ Sorcha
