Meet our beautiful bride Genevieve who celebrated her wedding in Mallorca last August. How gorgeous does she look in these stunning photos? We absolutely love how Genevieve styled our Iris gown by Alexandra Grecco.

We asked Genevieve some questions about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Genevieve, the Iris dress was perfect on you! Was it the style you had in mind for yourself? How did you know it was the dress for you?

The Iris dress was completely different to the style I thought I would go for. Initially, I booked my appointment at The White & Gold to specifically try on Alexandra Grecco’s Oleana dress as I thought I wanted a classic, fitted dress. It was actually my sister who spotted the Iris dress and suggested I try it on.

It sounds cliché, but the moment I tried on the Iris gown I knew it was going to be my dress. I loved everything about it – the neckline, the back detail and especially the embroidered flowers. Sorcha was so helpful as she suggested I should try on a few more dresses before deciding. When I put the Iris dress on again at the end of the appointment, I knew for certain it was the dress for me.

Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?

I brought my Mum and my sister to my first appointment. As I said I must give credit to my sister as she initially picked out the Iris dress. They both loved it as much as I did when I tried it on. I also brought my sister-in-law to my second appointment when I collected the dress to help me pick my accessories.

What would you say was your overall wedding style?

It is hard to define our overall wedding aesthetic/style. It was simple and classic as our colour scheme was white and gold. I would also describe it as romantic and rustic as our wedding reception was held outdoors.

How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

I got all my accessories at The White & Gold. Sorcha suggested a simple Alexandra Grecco veil which I loved as it didn’t detract from the embroidery on the dress. I chose the gold Camellia shoes by Loeffler Randall which I LOVED! They were so comfortable that I ended up wearing them for the entire day – even for dancing. For my jewellery, I wore a simple gold bangle by Gas Bjioux. I visited The White & Gold accessory shop a month before my wedding as I wasn’t 100% certain about the earrings I had initially chosen. That day I saw a pair of earrings which I loved and when I returned after lunch to buy them, Sorcha and Nessa both said they knew I would come back to get them – and I am so glad I did as they were my favourite accessory on the day!

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

Definitely try on your underwear in advance (I nearly made this mistake!). I went to Urata Designs for my alterations who was amazing – she sewed cups into the dress as it was backless.

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

It is hard to pick just one moment but we really enjoyed arriving back to our venue after the ceremony. It was the first time we had seen the décor set up, there was music playing in the background and everyone was happy and relaxed – it was very special.

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

I found it very helpful to organise everything I would need on the day, the night before such as my accessories. When I was getting ready, I knew where everything was and so I was able to relax and enjoy the morning.

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

My wedding planner organised my hair and makeup. Allison Tregarthen did my makeup and Laura Gisbert did my hair. My photographer was Iker Larburu and videographer was Pau Oliver from The Travel Film – they were all amazing.

If you had bridesmaids where did you choose their dresses from?

I had three bridesmaids and I got their dresses online from Shona Joy in Australia. I was hoping for simple and light dresses which the girls would feel comfortable wearing in the heat.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold? Amazing – I wish I could do it all over again! Sorcha and Nessa were so helpful, friendly and enthusiastic which made
all my visits so easy and exciting. I couldn’t recommended The White and Gold highly enough.

Thank you for your choosing your dress with TW&G Genevieve. It was so lovely meeting you and we love that one of our dresses made it to Mallorca. I am so thrilled to have you in our White & Gold gang and we all wish you both a lifetime of happiness together

♥ Sorcha
