Meet our beautiful bride Maretta who celebrated her wedding in Inish Beg Estate, Baltimore. Mary styled both herself and her wedding to perfection and she looks absolutely stunning in these wedding pics!

We asked Maretta some questions about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Maretta, our Tyler dress from Prea James was just perfect on you! Was it the style you had in mind for yourself? How did you know it was the dress for you?

This style really surprised me! I had some idea of the shape and style I wanted but was open to finding something I might not have thought of. A two piece was something that never crossed my mind but immediately caught my attention when I saw it.

After I tried on a few styles it became very clear that the material of the dress was guiding me in my choice. The Tyler dress by Prea James felt incredibly soft and smooth against my skin. It had the most wonderful pearlescent glow that caught the light beautifully. I loved choosing a style that was modern and understated. The fact that it’s a two piece makes me very happy because I already know I’m going to wear the top for my wedding anniversary and style it with trousers or a different skirt. I’m also planning to slightly alter the skirt so I can wear that again with a different top!

Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?

I brought two of my bridesmaids to the first appointment and I went back again with my mom, sister and niece. In a good way they were there to support me and not necessarily say what their personal preference was. They could tell I fell in love with that particular dress and were so helpful in making my decision.

What would you say was your overall wedding style?

Our wedding was relaxed, traditional in some ways and modern in most ways. Nature themed and embedded in woodland was what we based everything around. Rustic with elegant touches and making sure it felt like a big party and get together with family and friends rather than a big white wedding was important to us. The whole aesthetic was inspired by festival style, woodland, nature, the ocean and seasonal aspects. The colour theme for everything stemmed from rich, vibrant seasonal tones that complimented the choice of dresses, suits, flowers and decor. The lighting we put up was inspired by our love of outdoor music festivals and the sense of celebration for the whole weekend.

How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

I chose the Camellia gold shoes by Loeffler Randall and absolutely adore them! They were so comfortable on the day because of the strap and block heel. My veil is The Pearly Veil by Alice & Mae. The pearls and gold fleck really elevated my dress and caught the light beautifully on the day. My earring and necklace are from Astrid and Miyu. I loved how my earrings tied in with the pearls on the veil and gold throughout all of the accessories.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

I went to Urata designs for my dress alterations and Urata advised me on my underwear choices. My dress was open at the back, so Urata added some cups to the dress which eliminated any difficult bra decisions! I purchased some seamless shorts from Urata also, which were super lightweight and looked smooth and line free through the dress.

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

Walking up the woodland aisle to my friend playing Blackbird on acoustic guitar and seeing everyones expression when they saw my dress for the first time! It was so hard to keep my dress a secret from my husband because it was the only thing in the whole process that we kept from each other but it was so worth it in the end to see his reaction!

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

Don’t try to control anything on the day. You really have to go with the flow – no matter what happens, everything will work out! Enjoy the planning process because you can make it a lot of fun with days out. Food tasting, venue hunting and outfit shopping are a great excuse to make a day of it with your partner, friends and family.

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

If you had bridesmaids where did you choose their dresses from?

I went to Folkster in Dundrum for the Marissa gowns in burgundy and Imperial belts in berry.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

A beautiful space and a very calming and relaxing experience. Nessa and Sorcha were so helpful especially with finding the right accessories to suit my dress and overall style. Thank you for everything! x

Thank you for your extremely kind words Maretta. Nessa and I both loved meeting you and it was a huge honour having you wear one of our dresses. I am so thrilled to have you in our White & Gold gang and we all wish you both a lifetime of happiness together
