Meet our beautiful bride Jennifer who celebrated her wedding at The K club, Straffan, Co. Kildare. Jennifer styled her custom-design dress to perfection and looks absolutely stunning in these wedding pics!

We asked Jennifer some questions about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Jennifer, our Viola dress from Alexandra Grecco was just perfect on you! Was it the style you had in mind for yourself? How did you know it was the dress for you?

I was completely surprised by my dress choice! I had gone to Kinsale with a totally different idea of what style might suit me! I never would have considered Viola (Alexandra Grecco) as my wedding gown had Sorcha not encouraged me to try it on.

Before visiting the White & Gold, Alexandra Grecco was at the top of my designer list, so I was very eager to try several of her dresses. I got a real sense of excitement when I first tried Viola, and when Sorcha confirmed that my ideas of some custom changes would be achievable, I fell in love!

Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?

I came to my first appointment alone (chauffeured by my husband to be!) and would personally very much recommend that. Sorcha and Nessa made me feel so at ease and although I greatly value the opinions of some close friends and family, I wanted to experience those ‘first look’ moments initially on my own. When I returned for a second visit, I brought my Mam and Dad. I completely appreciate their taste and honesty- so I knew I had made the right decision when we were all in agreement!

What would you say was your overall wedding style?

Our overall wedding style was classic, with a modern touch! I went for a very neutral colour palette- and wanted that theme along with our stationary/settings to compliment the timeless elegance of the K club. The men wore black tuxes and our bridesmaids were in a champagne colour.

How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

I wanted to achieve a timelessly classic look but be sure to keep my accessories trendy and somewhat modern, as a young bride. I knew that I wanted a minimal look for the church, so I went with simple statement earrings from Vivi Embellish (paired with my floral tulle veil- handmade in Vietnam). I then changed my veil to a custom headpiece (Heart & Soul) and more subtle pearl drop earrings (Nilai) for the evening reception. I picked my Loeffler Randal shoes from TW&G also, I spent almost 18 hours in them on the day, with zero complaints! I loved how they looked and have gotten so much wear out of them since.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

I struggled with this piece! I had cups sewn into the gown by my seamstress which was straight forward- but found it very difficult to source the right underwear. I didn’t find success with the usual high street brands, and instead hit lucky in a local lingerie shop
where a lovely sales assistant with years of experience, found the right pair! I would recommend finding your underwear early on, having the correct pair for each gown fitting was hugely important when it came to the alterations.

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

There were honestly so many beautiful moments throughout the day, and just like every bride will say- the day goes by so quickly! James decided that we would hire a classic car for the wedding and that he would drive us to The K Club himself. That hour alone after the ceremony together was wonderful- we chatted on the day so far and had a little bit of quiet time together to try and take it all in!

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

This advice for me would come down to finding a dress you are completely comfortable in. I loved the style of my dress so much, and I never once felt the need to readjust/fix a strap or pull something up. Too often I see brides who are constantly fixing some element of their gown, and it looks so tiring! My wedding dress felt so easy and allowed me to enjoy the day even more fully.

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

If you had bridesmaids where did you choose their dresses from?

I sourced the Bridesmaids dresses in the UK- from Ghost. They were originally a full-length gown but we had them altered to midi.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

I enjoyed every trip to Kinsale in the run up to our wedding. I made a few changes to the original ‘Viola’ design and Sorcha was so helpful and patient with my ideas and custom measurements – the final product could not have been more perfect! The White & Gold is such a unique bridal boutique- and I had not come across another like it on my hunt for a wedding gown.

Thank you for your extremely kind words Jennifer. It was so lovely meeting you and even more of an honour having you wear one of our dresses. I am so thrilled to have you in our White & Gold gang and we all wish you both a lifetime of happiness together

♥ Sorcha
